Thoughts of a Blogger and Blog Makeover

Thoughts of a Blogger and Blog Makeover

I have been going through my blog doing a makeover.  What a job this is. When I wrote the blog posts I was writing to an audience that knew the terminology of what I was talking about. So when I took another look at my posts, I soon realized someone new to crafting or the products I use would have no idea what I was talking about. That's not good.
I have been editing the layout of my posts and rewriting some posts so anyone who reads my blog knows what I am talking about. Hopefully it is more appealing to read, look at and learn from.

Then I found an awful picture of a glass block I made.  Yes, I am admitting I posted a bad picture. It happens to all of us at some time or another to those of us that blog.
It did not display my work very well. That picture has been replaced with one that is more appealing. It is the golf glass block that says Golf Is Life.  You might think isn't it suppose to be Life Is Golf?
This glass block was made for my husband and Golf Is Life for him. He loves golfing that much! I did not make a mistake on his glass block it was made intentionally that way. I will be writing an article about bad pictures in the near future. Keep in mind I am by no means a professional photographer. This will be from an average photographer's viewpoint.

I also have been combining my blog posts from the Cricut Imagine blog Mary's Crafting Spot http://maryscraftingspot.blogspot.com/ with my current blog Mary's Crafty Designs. Even though the Cricut Imagine is retired I still use it. I still have some good content I want to transfer over to my current blog. No worries Cricut Imagine users the content I have on Mary's Crafting Spot will be available on Mary's Crafty Designs blog. This is not just to have content on this blog. My blog also displays how I evolved over the years as a crafter. When you start crafting, the more you craft the more you and your style evolves. I started blogging in 2009. I have come a long way in 8 years of blogging and crafting. I still have plenty of room to grow as a crafter and blogger. I suppose I could of hired a professional to set up my blog. But, I have a thirst for knowledge and I like trying things out for myself.

I will probably remove my Cricut Imagine blog Mary's Crafting Spot  http://maryscraftingspot.blogspot.com/  after I get the content and photos I want transferred to my current blog Mary's Crafty Designs. This is going to take awhile with well over 5oo posts to go through between the 2 blogs. I have health challenges I face with chronic pain, arthritis and a few other things that cause me to have some limitations in things I do.
I'm still determined to do things for myself. I'm just thankful I can still craft a bit. My blog is work in progress. Not to mention that switching blog platforms have jumbled things up a bit. I hope the changes help you out with finding products to make each project. I will be updating posts with clear directions to complete each project I post. You will still be able to view my blog and projects as I go through making changes.

Happy Crafting!!

Lily Wreath

Lily Wreath
This is my granddaughter's birthday present.
She wanted a wreath for her bedroom.
These are the colors she chose.
The yarn is Lion Brand Wool-Ease Thick and Quick Yarn. The color of the yarn is 106 Sky Blue. I wrapped the yarn around a 14" Floracraft Styrofoam Extruded Wreath with  UPC white.
I cut the Lily flowers out with Crafter's Companion - Sheena Perfect Partners metal die - Victorian Floral Lily.  I used wool felt for the flowers.
I embellished the center of the Lilies with Jolee's Boutique - Pearl and Gem Clusters.

Using Travel Bags For Craft Supplies For Vacations Or On Road Trips

I am so excited I found a nice size travel bag to fit my coloring supplies in while on the go or to use at home. It is a Yeiotsy travel bag that measures approximately 8-1/2"L x 5-1/2W x 5-1/2"H filled. The entire set of Spectrum Noir Colorista markers fit in this bag along with a couple 5x7 Spectrum Noir Colorista coloring pads. There is plenty of room to fit more in this bag as you can see from the pictures. It is reasonably priced at 8.99 with Amazon's Prime shipping. The opening of the bag opens up wide to easily put your supplies in or take them out. It has a carrying handle at each end of the bag. There are 5 colors to choose from. I think I'm going to pick up another one. It is so nice to just be able to have everything in one place. When your on the go you can put it in your tote with everything secured in the bag with the zipper closure.
This would also be nice for kids supplies when going on road trips or vacation.
